NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, THURSDAY, MAY 5

ALBERT LEA - There will be a National Day of Prayer observance outside the Freeborn County Courthouse in Albert Lea on Thursday, May 5 at 12PM. * That evening at 6:30, several churches will be holding a prayer event at New Life Christian Church, located between NAPA and Advanced Auto in Albert Lea

BRICELYN - A prayer gathering is to be held on the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5 at Prairie River Camp near Bricelyn.  Prayer Time will begin at 1PM in the lower level of the church, and at 2PM will move to the Prayer Chapel.  There will be a wagon ride to help transport across the camp.  All are welcome, including families with small children.

SPRING VALLEY - Faith United Methodist Church, in Spring Valley, is holding a light dinner and ecumenical worship service on Thursday, May 5 in recognition of the National Day of Prayer.  Dinner begins at 6PM to benefit the local food shelf and the service starts at 7 o'clock.

MOUNTAIN LAKE - There will be a gathering from 12Noon to 1PM at the Mountain Lake Park Shelter.

WORTHINGTON - There will be a prayer gathering in the lower level of the Nobels County Government Center in Worthington at 12 noon. * Also a prayer time will be held at First United Methodist Church, in Worthington from 6:30 to 8PM.

WELLS - The Wilderness Prayer Center, of rural Wells, will have a prayer event on May 5 beginning at 6PM.

MANKATO - Resurrection Lutheran Church, located at 1735 East Main Street in Mankato, will host a noon hour event to include music and meditation and prayer.

LAKEVILLE - Lakeville City Hall, in Lakeville, will hold a prayer gathering from 12noon to 1PM.

NORWOOD YOUNG AMERICA - Living Rock Church Farm will hold a prayer gathering at 7PM in Young America.

OWATONNA - There will be a gathering in Owatonna, at the City Hall, at 5:30PM.  In case of rain it will move to the Art Center, in Owatonna.


Human Trafficing Awareness Concert

AUSTIN - There will be a Human Trafficking Awareness event on Friday, May 6 at 7PM featuring Chris Hawkey in concert, as well as a live and silent auction. MANKATO - Celebrate Recovery meets each Tuesday evening, beginning with a meal served from 5 to 6PM at Hosanna Lutheran Church, which is located at 105 Hosanna Drive in Mankato.

HUNTLEY - The Huntley Community Cookbook, a collaborative effort between the Community Covenant Church and Huntley Cafe, is now available. The cookbook includes recipes, vintage photographs, faith stories, and a brief history of the Huntley Community.  You may purchase yours at the Huntley Cafe or by contacting the church at 507-866-4646.

WELLS/BLUE EARTH - A Caregiver Coffee meets every 3rd Tuesday at 10AM at the United Methodist Church in Wells and at 3:15 at the Ag Center Conference Room in Blue Earth. For more information you can contact Interfaith Caregivers at 507-526-4684.

FAIRMONT/BLUE EARTH - Interfaith Caregivers offer two Parkinson's Support Groups each month. The Fairmont group meets the last Thursday of the month at 10:30 at Grace Lutheran Church and the Blue Earth group gather at the Ag Center Conference Room every 3rd Wednesday at 1:30PM.

BLUE EARTH - Silver Sneakers, excercise for seniors, meets at 10AM each Monday and Wednesday at the Fitness Center in Blue Earth.  For more information or to register you can call Michelle at 507-526-3376.

ALBERT LEA - Ruby's Pantry Food Distribution will move back to their church location, which is Assemblies of God Church located at 1540 South Shore Drive in Albert Lea, on The 1st Saturday of each month.  Doors open at 9:30 and distribution is from 10 to 11:30AM.

NORTH MANKATO - Grandparents and relatives raising children meet the 2nd Thursday of every month at New Creation World Outreach Church on Highway 169 in North Mankato from 6 to 7:30PM. A family style meal is served as well as a free daycare provided. You can contact Kelijo (Kelly Jo) at 507-380-7210 to let them know you will be attending so the meal and daycare can be planned.
