Community Calendar Forest City Area Fellowship of Christian Women

FOREST CITY - Forest City Area Fellowship of Christian Women invite women and men to their meeting on Monday, February 2 in the Fellowship Room of First Baptist Church, in Forest City. You may make reservations by January 30 by calling Carol at 641-585-3203.

Dysart Family Concert

Soup Supper

KANAWHA - Kanawha Christian School will hold a Soup Supper on Saturday, January 31 from 5 to 7PM at the Kanawha Fire Station.

Dell's Scandinavian Smorgasbord

FROST - Dell Lutheran Church, of rural Frost, will have their Scandinavian Smorgasbord, formerly known as Lutefisk Supper, on Sunday, February 1 from 1 to 5PM.  There will also be a Bake Sale, sponsored by the Dell Women.  All smorgasbord proceeds go to support mission projects.

Armouraires Quartet

MAPLETON - The Armouraires Quartet will be performing at Faith Bible Church, in Mapleton, on Sunday, February 1 at 10:30AM.

Ruby's Pantry

ALBERT LEA - Ruby's Pantry will be returning to the Assembly of God Church, located at 1540 South Shore Drive in Albert Lea, on Saturday, February 7 from 10AM to 12Noon.

VBS Fundraiser

MANLY - There will be a fundraiser to help with expenses of the ecumenical VBS, to be held in Bolan this summer.  The all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast will be held on Sunday, February 8 at the Bethel United Methodist Church, in Manly. 

Valentine Carnival

WELLS - St. Casimir's Valentine Carnival will be held on Sunday, February 8 from 11:30 to 5PM at St. Casimir's Church, in Wells.  All proceeds will go to the general fund.

Special Speaker, Paula Ellefson

SHERBURN - Sherburn Regional Worship Center, located at 2 Crossroads Drive, in Sherburn, will have a special guest speaker, Paula Ellefson, of "40 Days for Life" and "Rich in Mercy" on Sunday, February 8 during their Sunday school at 9AM and Worship time at 10:00.

Music on the Hill

MANKATO - The Mankato Symphony will perform the third in a series, Music on the Hill, on Sunday, February 15 at 2PM at the Good Counsel Chapel, in Mankato.

Poet and Author Presentation

MANKATO - On Thursday, February 19, poet, Natalie Dianz, and fiction writer, Danielle Sosin, will be speaking at Minnesota State University, in Mankato.  They will present a talk from 3 to 4PM in the Centennial Student Union Ostrander Auditorium, and they will give a reading and sign books at 7:30PM in Centennial Student Union, room 245.

Project Community Connect

MANKATO - The Blue Earth County Homeless Response Team is sponsoring "Project Community Connect", to help low income and homeless individuals, on Tuesday, March 17 at the Verizon Wireless Center, in Mankato.

ALBERT LEA - Assembly of God Church, in Albert Lea, will host Ruby's Pantry Food Distribution the First Saturday of each month from 10AM to 12noon.  The church is located at 1540 South Shore Drive in Albert Lea.

BUFFALO CENTER - There will be a Blue Grass and Gospel Jam every 2nd Thursday of the month, from 6 to 9PM at the Heritage Town Center, located on Highway 9 west of the fire station in Buffalo Center.  A lunch will be served by the Buffalo Center Historical Society.

EAST CHAIN - Ruby's Pantry will distribute food in East Chain on the 4th Saturday of every month from 10AM to 12noon at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church which is located at 507 280th Avenue, in East Chain

MANKATO - A discussion group for Grandparents and Relative Caregivers, who are raising the next generation of children, will meet from 6 to 7:30PM on the 2nd Thursday of each month at New Creation World Outreach Church, on highway 169 in Mankato.  Childcare and a meal will be provided and you are asked to RSVP, for childcare and meal, by calling 507-380-7210.

MANKATO - Celebrate Recovery meets every Friday at 6:30PM at Hillside Church, which is located at 502 South Victory Drive in Mankato.

OWATONNA -  Daybreak Community Church in Owatonna, hosts a Recovery Meeting for anyone who wants to work through habits, hurts, and hang-ups, on Mondays  from 6:30 to 7:30PM. The church is located at 2515 Harvest Lane in Owatonna.

ALBERT LEA - Single Moms Weekly Fellowship Group will be held each Wednesday from 4 to 6PM at First Presbyterian Church, located at 308 Water Street in Albert Lea.  This is a free event that includes child care with a nursery for young children and the KidZone Ministry for K-5th grade.  For more information you can contact Carol Cerney at 507-373-8423.

MAPLETON - The Community Closet, which is located above the Plaid Piper Floral in Mapleton, is open 9AM to 12Noon every Saturday.  Proceeds go to non-profit organizations in the Maple River Area.

WELLS - The Clothes Closet, a non-profit Thrift Shop in Wells, offers clothing  for everyone on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday - each week -  from 11AM to 6PM.  All proceeds of The Clothes Closet go to local ministries.  Used items can be dropped off for donation during store hours. 

SHERBURN - MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, meets every other Tuesday at 10AM at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn.  All moms that are expecting or have children that are kindergarten and under are welcome to attend.  For more information you can contact Amber at 507-236-1328

NEW ULM - Compassionate Friends, a Grief Support Group for parents, grandparents and siblings who have lost a child, meet at Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm on the last Monday of each month at 7PM.  Questions can be directed to Judy Kastman at 507-359-2737.

GAYLORD - United Methodist Church of Gaylord is offering home-style suppers every Wednesday from 5 to 6:15PM followed by a brief worship time.  The church is located at 318 4th Street in Gaylord.

WELLS - The Wilderness Prayer Center located south of Wells, will host " Worship In The Wilderness" the last Friday night of each month at 7PM, as well as prayer and worship meetings every Tuesday night at 7o'clock.  More information, including directions, can be found at

ALBERT LEA - All mothers of children ages birth through kindergarten are invited to attend the Albert Lea MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, which meets the third Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30PM at Crossroads Church in Albert Lea.
