Community Calendar An Evening of Healing Prayer

FRIDAY, JULY 1
ALBERT LEA - Our Father's House in Albert Lea will hold an Evening of Healing Prayer for anyone who has a need for physical healing on Friday, July 1 from 7 to 8PM.  The church is located 2miles south fo Skyline Plaza on Highway 69, in Albert Lea.

Fairmont Fireworks Display

MONDAY, JULY 4
FAIRMONT - The Fairmont Fireworks display will take place on Monday, July 4 at approximately 10PM.  Beginning at 6PM, a salute will be shot every hour on the hour as a reminder.  The bike/walking trail will be closed beginning at 10AM that morning, since the display will be shot from the west side of Sisseton Lake, in Fairmont.  You may direct any questions to Roger at 507-236-5056.


Junior Sports Day Camp

ONGOING EVENTS

WELLS - The Wells Area Food Shelf will begin a new program, 'Summer Food for Kids'.  Beginning June 1, families will receive their usual monthly allotment of food plus a second set of vouchers for milk, bread and eggs, as well as additional food items.  If you are interested in helping fund this program you can send your donation to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 291 First Street SW in Wells.

MANKATO - Mankato's nonprofit, LEEP (Leisure Education for Exceptional People), is looking for volunteer coaches for their Unified teams, which combines athletes with and without disabilities on the same team. FARIBAULT COUNTY - Interfaith Caregivers of Faribault County will help you with your yard work this spring, beginning mid-April. Clients must be 60 years old and live in Faribault County.  Volunteers are also needed. You may call to volunteer or to receive clean up help by calling 507-526-4684.

WASECA - Junior and Senior High students are invited to Club 180 at Christ Community Church in Waseca on Friday nights.

MANKATO - Celebrate Recovery meets each Tuesday evening, beginning with a meal served from 5 to 6PM at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato.

HUNTLEY - The Huntley Community Cookbook, a collaborative effort between the Community Covenant Church and Huntley Cafe, is now available. The cookbook includes recipes, vintage photographs, faith stories, and a brief history of the Huntley Community.  You may purchase yours at the Huntley Cafe or by contacting the church at 507-866-4646.

WELLS/BLUE EARTH - A Caregiver Coffee meets every 3rd Tuesday at 10AM at the United Methodist Church in Wells and at 3:15 at the Ag Center Conference Room in Blue Earth. For more information you can contact Interfaith Caregivers at 507-526-4684.

FAIRMONT/BLUE EARTH - Interfaith Caregivers offer two Parkinson's Support Groups each month. The Fairmont group meets the last Thursday of the month at 10:30 at Grace Lutheran Church and the Blue Earth group gather at the Ag Center Conference Room every 3rd Wednesday at 1:30PM.

BLUE EARTH - Silver Sneakers, excercise for seniors, meets at 10AM each Monday and Wednesday at the Fitness Center in Blue Earth.  For more information or to register you can call Michelle at 507-526-3376.

ALBERT LEA - Ruby's Pantry Food Distribution is held at the Assemblies of God Church in Albert Lea, on The 1st Saturday of each month.  Doors open at 9:30 and distribution is from 10 to 11:30AM.

NORTH MANKATO - Grandparents and relatives raising children meet the 2nd Thursday of every month at New Creation World Outreach Church in North Mankato from 6 to 7:30PM. A family style meal is served as well as a free daycare provided. You can contact Kelijo (Kelly Jo) at 507-380-7210 to let them know you will be attending so the meal and daycare can be planned.
