Community Calendar Ice Plunge

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4
WASECA - The Waseca Sleigh & Cutter Festival Association will hold its Annual Ice Plunge at the Clear Lake Park Beach in Waseca on February 4 at 11AM.  Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of the Steele-Waseca Area.  If you have questions, you may contact the "Plunge Hotline" at 507-837-9518.


Tropical Getaway Luncheon

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4
NORTH MANKATO - The Women's Ministry of Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato, will present a "Tropical Getaway Luncheon" on Saturday, February 4 from 10:30 to 12:30PM at the church, located at 2000 Howard Drive in North Mankato.  You may purchase tickets at the church or they can be reserved on-line at crossviewcovenant.org.


Spaghetti Dinner

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5
CEYLON - Girl Scout Troup 30213, of Ceylon, will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner at the Ceylon Legion from 10:30AM to 1PM on Sunday, February 5.  The proceeds will help the girls travel to Savannah, Georgia, in June, to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting.


Lutefisk Supper

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5
FROST - Dell Lutheran Church of rural Frost is having their 30th Annual Lutefisk Supper on Sunday, February 5 from 1 to 6PM.  There will be valet parking for all and a Bake Sale provided by the Dell Women. All money raised goes to missions.

AMBOY - Grief Share, a grief recovery support group, will have meetings from Monday, January 9 through April 2 at 2PM at Jackson Lake Church in Amboy.  You may come anytime during the 13 week session.

NEW ULM - The Compassionate Friends meets at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 700 South Broadway in New Ulm, on the last Monday of each month from 7 to 9PM, except December when they meet the second Sunday for a Worldwide Candle Lighting in remembrance of their children.  For more information you can contact Judy Kastman at 507-359-2737.

BLUE EARTH - The Minnesota Board on Aging and the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging are offering 'The Senior LinkAge Line', which has trained volunteers to help answer questions and simplify your life in regard to Medicare, Insurance, Long Tearm Care, Prescriptions Drugs, Forms, and much more.  A volunteer will be available at the Blue Earth Senior Center the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 11AM to 12PM.  You may call 800-333-2433 for more information.

TRIMONT - All young adults, ages 20 to 40, are welcome to come on Saturdays from 7 to 8PM for an evening of live music, skit, and DVD by Max Lucado called "Out Live Your Life", every third Saturday of each month at Trimont Covenant Church in the basement.  You can Call 507-639-3512 for more information.

WINDOM - The Evangelical Free Worship Center, in Windom, will have a Men's breakfast the last Saturday of each month at 7:30PM. The meal includes a message and fellowship.

GAYLORD - United Methodist Church, of Gaylord, is offering home-style suppers every Wednesday from 5 to 6:15PM followed by a brief worship time.  The church is located at 318 4th Street in Gaylord.

OWATONNA - Celebrate Recovery is a Christ centered 12 step program that deals with all kinds of addictions and meets every Friday at Daybreak Community Church, in Owatonna, from 7 to 9PM.  The church is located at 2515 Harvest Lane in Owatonna.

NORTH MANKATO - The Overeaters Anonymous group meets each Tuesday evening at 6PM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato.  The church is located at 527 Grant Avenue.  You can call Michelle at 612-267-2569 for more information.

MADELIA - There will be a Community Meal on the second Tuesday of each month serving from 5 to 6:15PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Madelia.  After the meal there will be a "Stone Soup Ministry", featuring worship and praise in a coffee house atmosphere.

BRICELYN - The Channel One Food Bank, of Rochester, will provide a food drop on the third Saturday of each month through March 19, from 10 to 11am, at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church, located at 404 North Secor Street in Bricelyn.

WELLS - The Wilderness Prayer Center, located south of Wells, will host " Worship InThe Wilderness" the last Friday night of each month at 7PM, as well as prayer and worship meetings every Tuesday night at 7o'clock.  More information, including directions can be found at www.wildernessprc.org

WINDOM - The Evangelical Free Church in Windom has a Men's Breakfast at 7:30 on the last Saturday morning of each month. The church is located at 416 10th Street in Windom.

SHERBURN - "Friday Night Fire", an evening of prayer and creative worship, will be held each Friday night at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn at 7PM.

FAIRMONT - The Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont, offers history, Arts, and lunch all in one place each Tuesday from 12Noon to 1PM.  The Red Rock Center is located at 222 East Blue Earth Avenue in Fairmont.

SAINT PETER - ONE Recovery and Discipleship, a support group for men in crisis, meets every Tuesday night at 6:30PM at Waldo's Coffee Shop in Downtown St. Peter.  If you are interested in learning more about the group or need a ride to the meeting, you may call Kyle at 507-317-6214.

ALBERT LEA - All mothers of  children ages birth through kindergarten are invited to attend the Albert Lea MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, which meets the third Thursday, of each month from 6:30 to 8:30PM at Crossroads Church in Albert Lea. 

ALBERT LEA - Zion Lutheran Church along with The Salvation Army will be providing a community meal every Tuesday evening from 5 to 6PM at 302 Court Street in Albert Lea.  Doors will open at 4:45.  

FOREST CITY - The First Congregational Church in Forest City is going to have their Food Pantry available on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7:30PM.  The church is located at 316 North 6th Street.  If you are in need of emergency assistance, you can contact the church by calling 641-585-4852.

ALGONA - UPLIFT, a worship experience that includes teaching as well as high energy worship, will be held at Faith Assembly of God Church in Algona every Saturday afternoon from 5:30 to 7PM.  The church is located at 716 East McGregor Street in Algona.  If you have questions you may call Pastor Dave at 515-295-3323.

ALBERT LEA - The First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea has started a fellowship group for single moms and their children.  The meetings are the second Saturday of each month at the church from 10 to 12noon. MANKATO - Every Friday evening at 7PM Celebrate Recovery meets at the Evangelical Free Church, located at 709 North Riverfront in Mankato.

ST. PETER - The St. Peter Singles Group meets monthly on the second Sunday of each month from 2 to 5 PM at the St. Peter Community Center, Building A.  The group is open to all men and women age 45 and over.  You may contact Phyllis at 507-934-8940 for more information.
