Lenten Luncheons

EAGLE GROVE:  The Eagle Grove Area Ministerial Association is sponsoring Lenten Luncheons starting Thursday, February 19th, and will continue each Thursday for six Thursdays, with the luncheons beginning at 12PM and end around 1PM. There will be a different host church for each week and Thursday, February 19th, Samuel Lutheran Church will be the host church.  For reservations, call 515-448-5038 by Tuesday, February 17th. There will be a free will offering for the luncheon.

Marriage and Parenting Conference

NEWELL - Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, will have a marriage and parenting conference March 28 and 29.  The marriage conference will be on Saturday and the parenting conference will be Sunday, both nights from 5PM to 8:30PM. Presenters are Steve and Megan Scheibner.  Steve Scheibner is a pilot with American Airlines who was bumped, at the last minute, from flying on 9/11 when the plane hit the twin towers.  He will present a message and his testimony on Sunday Morning at 10:20AM. Open House

JEWELL - Victory Christian Fellowship in Jewell, has an Open House to give God glory and honor for their new worship center on Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29.  Praise and worship service will be on Saturday at 6PM and on Sunday, the Open House starts at 9AM with Worship at 10:00AM.

Baked Potato Fundraiser

HUMBOLDT - Faith United Methodist Church's 7th and 8th grade youth, in Humboldt, will have their annual Baked Potato Fundraiser on Sunday, March 29 from 10AM to 1PM.

Palm Sunday Spring Musical

FORT DODGE - There will be a Palm Sunday Spring Musical hosted by the Fort Dodge Community Choir on Sunday, March 29 at 3PM at Coppin Chapel AME Church, which is located at 329 1st Avenue South, in Fort Dodge.

"The Last Supper" Reenactment

BELMOND - A reenactment of "The Last Supper" will be presented on Maundy Thursday, April 2 at the United Methodist Church, in Belmond, beginning at 8:30PM.

Seder Meal

DOWS - Abundant Life Chapel, located at 202 Fairview Street in Dows will be having a Seder Meal on Maundy Thursday at 6:30 PM.

Good Friday Service

FORT DODGE - Rolling Hills Community Church located at 2891 N. 15th Street in Fort Dodge will be having a Good Friday service on April 3rd at 6 pm.

Clarion Easter Egg Hunt

CLARION:  Clarion will hold their Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4th, near the shelter house at the Clarion Aquatic Center Park.  The Easter Bunny will arrive with refreshments at 8AM and will be available for pictures if you would like to bring a camera.  The drawing will begin at 9AM and the hunt will begin afterwards.  In case of bad weather the festivities will be held at the high school.  For more information call Tom at 515-532-2482.

Road to Calvary

BLAIRSBURG - On Easter Sunday, April 5, the Missionary Alliance Church of Blairsburg will be celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with a breakfast starting 8:30AM. At 10AM they will present a drama, Road to Calvary, which presents the life and death of Christ from the perspective of Judas, Peter, Mary Magdalene, Mary and a few other biblical characters. The church is located at 503 3rd street in Blairsburg.

The Sermon on the Mount

IOWA FALLS - The Lighthouse Center of Hope and area churches will be presenting "The Sermon on the Mount" performed by Frank Runyeon. The drama will be on Saturday, April 11 at 7PM at Hamilton Auditorium on the campus of Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls.

PALMER - Faith Community Church, of rural Palmer, and KJYL Christian Radio present "Girlz Gone Right", a free event for 7th through 12th grade girls, on Sunday, April 12 from 4 to 7PM at Faith Community Church.  Special Speaker will be Pam Stenzel and worship by UNI Salt Co. Fundraiser and Educational Outreach

IOWA FALLS - The Lighthouse Center of Hope in Iowa Falls will be having a Fundraiser and Educational Outreach program on Sunday, April 12 at 2PM at the Gentle Student Center on the campus of Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls. Frank Runyeon will discuss the struggle to live faithfully in the media age in his presentation titled "Hollywood vs. Faith"

Family Health Safety Saturday

EAGLE GROVE - Eagle Grove School Nurse, Sandy Harvey, RN, and the Eagle Grove Police Department will be hosting a Health and Safety Saturday on April 18 from 11 AM - 2 PM at the Eagle Grove Bus Barn located at 901 SE 1st Street.  Area health care providers will be available along with information regarding helmet safety, distracted driving, and nutrition. Other activities will include games, prizes and a bicycle rodeo.

MOMs group

EAGLE GROVE: First Baptist Church of Eagle Grove has a full calendar of events scheduled for every Sunday night of the month.  The 1st Sunday is "Old Fashioned Prayer Time."  The 2nd Sunday is "Bible Topic Talks" with open discussions.  The 3rd Sunday is "Movie Night."  The 4th Sunday is "Sing Time." EAGLE GROVE:  The 2014 to 2015 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program has been established to help homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs. FORT DODGE:  Those with a heart for prison ministry are encouraged to contact the Church of the Damascus Road for information about ministering to the imprisoned or becoming apart of the Outside Church Council.  The council meets every third Wednesday of the month.  Call 515-955-3579 for details.

FORT DODGE:  St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge has a women's Bible study on Mondays at 1:30PM in the church library.  The men's Bible study meets on Mondays at 6:30PM in the church board room.  Another Men's Bible class meets on Tuesdays at 6:30AM in Conference Room number 1. 

GOLDFIELD:  Crossroads Youth and Family Center in Goldfield is open for activities and for kids to hang out on Friday and Saturday nights.  Kids 8th grade and younger are welcome from 7 to 9PM.  Youth in 9th grade through college age are welcome from 7PM to midnight.
